Also, if you do ever fall out from a canoe, these are probably the easiest to get back into, see right for picture demo. Please do not buy a canoe if you can’t get back into it easily, ours are the easiest I know of. |
 1. Get yourself to the bow (front).
 2. Pull yourself up onto canoe using the sides to hold onto.
Rest your chest on the bow
 3. Reach forward and continue holding the sides to gently slide yourself further up onto the bow (front) of canoe.
 4. Continue to hold sides, sliding yourself up and pulling yourself further onto canoe
 5. Grasp rails when you can reach them and continue pulling yourself further into canoe
 6. Gently roll yourself over onto your side, keeping hold of the rail.
 7. Complete roll onto your back.
Use hand rails and foot rests to push yourself up and into sitting position
 8. Sit up comfortably and display appropriate victorious pose.
OR
 1. Get yourself to the bow (front) . Place one hand either side of the bow and use arms to lift body up straight.
Using
 2. Move one hand further up one side of canoe and turn body and sit sideways on bow. (front)
 3. Continue to turn until you are sitting on bow (front). You will need to change position of your arms as you do this.
 4. once you are comfortable and stable on bow, use sides of canoe to pull yourself further up onto canoe.
 5. Continue to reach behind & grasp sides. Place feet on bow. Use the rails and your feet to pull/push yourself further into canoe
 6. Continue to push/pull yourself into seat of canoe using feet to push and grasping sides/ hand rails.
 7. Once you are in canoe seat, use hand rails to adjust yourself into a comfortable position.
 8. Sit up comfortably and display
appropriate pose of victory.
